Season Update – Road to the Cup

Whole Grain celebrates after scoring a touchdown

Well April is beginning to wind to a close, the last matches of the Spring 2010 season of BASH are over and only one game remains, The BASH Cup at Tower of Games! We’ve had a wild season filled triumph and tragedy, and each and every team has put their stamp on the inaugural season of BASH in one way or another, but like any competition there can only be one winner, and two teams have risen above the rest for a shot at the big prize.

The first is Peanut Butter Jelly Time, from head coach Don,  finishing the season with an amazing 15 league points, ending with an impressive 5 win, 1 loss record for the season. Peanut Butter Jelly Time sprinted early to the top of the ranks at the beginning of the season, but in their third game they lost two of promising players, and they’ve been struggling to replace the hole left by them ever since. The star of the Peanut Butter Jelly Roster has been their top Blitzer, Whole Grain, a player who is the second place league leader for casualties inflicted and fourth place for the top number of touchdowns. However, an injury in his last match means he’ll be unable to play in the upcoming cup.

The second team to make it into the Cup are the Psycho Clowns with head coach Pat. The Psycho Clowns end the season with 3 wins, 1 loss, and 2 draws. A bit of a late bloomer as far as touchdowns are concerned, the Psycho Clowns have always had the market corned when it came to sheer carnage on the pitch. The star player of the Psycho Clowns without question has been Zeztorg, the league leader for casualties. This wild bull strikes fear into the hearts of the opposing team every time he rumbles out onto the pitch, flaunting a total of 6 casualties, 1 kill, 6 KOs, and 9 stuns. Unfortunately, similar to his rival on Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Zeztorg has also been injured thanks to a goblin chainsaw, meaning both teams will be without their heaviest hitters for the championship.

Who will win and take the Spring 2010 BASH Cup home? Come to Tower of Games this Saturday at 8PM to witness all the action live and in person. Also stay tuned to this page for more news after the Cup, such as Wes’ “Greatest Hitz” video, news about our next season and tournaments held in the interim, and our off-season working helping get OBLLM up to speed on PC Blood Bowl. The season may end, but BASH never sleeps!
